Privacy Policy - Bookcicle, LLC.
Introduction
Your privacy is very important to Bookcicle, LLC (“we”, “our” or the
“Company”). Accordingly, we have developed this Privacy Policy (this
“Policy”) to clarify how we collect, use, communicate and disclose
information from users who access our websites at
bookcicle.com, careergr.com,
oursircle.com, redline.bookcicle.com, funcspace.com, and their related subdomains (the “Site”).
Additionally, this Policy outlines the measures we take to protect your
information and how you may contact us about our privacy practices.
Processing your Personal Information (as defined herein) is necessary to
provide you with our services, to protect our legitimate interests, and to
comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
Bookcicle and its brands
Bookcicle, LLC operates Bookcicle Studio and related authorship services, CareerGR, OurSircle, Redline and Funcspace. This policy covers shared account, billing, support and operational practices, together with the product-specific processing described below. Each brand publishes focused policies for its enabled features. Brand-specific privacy details apply to that product; using a shared account does not grant access to another user’s information.
Studio may process manuscripts, revisions, contribution records and requested AI assistance. CareerGR processes résumés and career reports. OurSircle processes Capsule, contact and release records and encrypted credential values. Redline processes comparison inputs and results. Funcspace processes submitted company information, research sources, previews and publication choices. Planned or demonstration features do not establish a live processing or custody commitment.
CareerGR Résumé and Report Data
CareerGR is a Bookcicle LLC brand. When you use CareerGR, we may process the
résumé and target-role information you provide, deterministic facts
extracted from those materials, AI-assisted analysis, suggested edits,
generated drafts, report interactions, and export or sharing activity to
provide, secure, support, and improve the requested service as described
in this Policy.
A free guest preview does not call an AI model. Its temporary guest upload
expires after 24 hours. If you unlock a report, sign in, or use a Creator
workflow, related content and project records may be retained with your
account according to this Policy and our operational retention practices.
CareerGR report sharing is user-directed. Anyone who receives an active
report link may be able to view the associated read-only report. You are
responsible for choosing recipients and protecting or revoking links that
contain personal or employment information.
Résumés and reports may contain contact details, education, employment
history, and information about other people. Submit only information
needed for your requested analysis and that you are entitled to provide.
AI-assisted workflows may send relevant content to the providers described
in this Policy. Privacy and deletion requests for CareerGR can be directed
to privacy@bookcicle.com using the rights and choices process below.
Redline Document Comparisons
Redline by Bookcicle processes the original and revised text or files you submit, comparison settings, generated redlines and artifacts, and related request information to perform comparisons and provide requested downloads, hosted viewers, or embeds. The comparison engine does not use generative AI. The no-model-training commitment below also applies to Redline comparison inputs and outputs.
Redline processes comparison inputs to return your results. Direct comparisons that do not require stored artifacts can be processed without saving the submitted files or comparison content to object storage. Uploaded files and requested downloads, hosted viewers, embeds, or paginated results may require temporary storage. Standard temporary uploads are scheduled to expire after one day. Hosted comparisons and iframe embeds may use longer retention periods according to the applicable service configuration and comparison settings. Viewer links and access tokens have their own expiration periods, which may differ from the content retention period. Expiration does not guarantee immediate deletion; deletion can occur later as storage lifecycle cleanup runs. A person with a valid viewer link or token may be able to see the comparison content, so share these credentials carefully.
If you use a Redline account or API key, we process account and key records, authentication and security information, usage and quota records, and billing information to provide access, measure usage, administer plans, prevent abuse, and support you. Payment information may be handled by the payment providers described below. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information unless needed for your comparison and you are authorized to provide it. Requests about Redline data may be sent to privacy@bookcicle.com under the rights and choices process below.
OurSircle Capsules and credentials
OurSircle processes account information, Capsule metadata, submitted content, contact and recipient information, permissions and enabled check-in or release activity. Supported credential values are encrypted on the user’s device and accessible only through authorized key access. This does not imply that account records, metadata or every uploaded file is end-to-end encrypted. Demonstrations use fictional data and do not activate live custody, monitoring or release services. Plan availability and coverage terms govern enabled account features.
Funcspace company research and publication
Funcspace processes submitted company facts, research sources, reports, preview links, owner claims, investor-interest submissions and publication settings. Connected chat tools receive information deliberately submitted through those tools, not a user’s full chat history. Public research and owner-approved published profiles can be visible to visitors and indexed elsewhere. Drafts and private references are separate from the public version. Features available in development or test environments do not establish production availability.
Your Privacy by Bookcicle Browser Extension
Your Privacy by Bookcicle is a browser extension developed under Bookcicle
Brands to analyze and score third-party web tracking exposure. We believe in
absolute transparency about what data is processed and where:
Default Local-Only Operation (Zero Telemetry by Default):
By default, Your Privacy runs 100% locally on your device. Network
request audits, tracker identification, cookie inspections, and score
calculations occur exclusively within your browser’s local memory and
isolated storage (chrome.storage.local).
In this default state, the extension generates zero outbound network
requests, transmits no telemetry, requires no user accounts or logins,
and collects no personal information.
Opt-In Community Defense: If you choose to enable the
Community Defense feature in the extension settings, your browser
contributes anonymous, aggregated privacy observations for publicly visited
domains to Bookcicle’s community defense database. These reports contain
strictly the visited domain name, the calculated privacy score, and coarse
tracker category counts. They contain zero personal identifiers,
no user tokens, no cookies, no timestamps, and no query parameters.
Incoming reports are strictly deduplicated so that each domain is recorded
at most once per week, and Bookcicle does not log or persist user IP
addresses in connection with Community Defense submissions.
Opt-In Page Journeys: If you also choose to enable Page
Journeys, the extension records anonymous transition graph edges between
sanitized site paths (e.g., from /home
to /portal). To prevent any personal
data leakage, dynamic path segments such as user IDs, numeric tokens,
UUIDs, and hashes are automatically replaced with generic tokens
(/:id/, /:uuid/),
and all query parameters are discarded. Page Journeys are not stitched
across sessions and contain no user or device identifiers.
User Autonomy and Cache Control: Participation in
Community Defense and Page Journeys is entirely voluntary and disabled by
default. You may toggle these features off at any time. Additionally, the
extension options page allows you to inspect your weekly deduplication
records and purge your local audit cache instantly with one click.
Bookcicle Zero-PII Guarantee: Your Privacy operates locally in your browser with zero telemetry by default. Opt-in Community Defense reports contain visited domains, calculated privacy scores, and coarse tracker category counts. When Page Journeys is also enabled, reports include transitions between sanitized paths. These report payloads exclude cookies, authentication headers, browser fingerprints, session tokens, IP addresses, and personal identifiers.
Agreement
BY USING THE SITE, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN THIS
POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY, THEN YOU ARE NOT
AUTHORIZED TO USE THE SITE. BOOKCICLE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY OR
AMEND THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY AT ANY TIME. YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THE SITE
FOLLOWING THE POSTING OF CHANGES WILL CONSTITUTE YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THOSE
CHANGES.
Information We Collect
We collect two types of data and information as follows:
Non-personal Information –
We may collect un-identified and non-identifiable information
(“Non-personal Information”), including aggregated usage and technical
details (e.g., browser type, operating system, access time, or
de-identified usage statistics) to enhance the functionality of the
Site.
Identifiable Information –
We may also collect individually identifiable information (“Identifiable
Information”) such as your name, email, IP address and other online
identifiers (for example, device identifiers, login details, and, if you
use social login, social media profile data), as well as payment
information.
This information may be collected when you sign in, use our services, or
is provided by third party providers, analytics vendors, and public
registers. In some jurisdictions, certain technical data (such as IP
address or device identifiers) is treated as personal data; where that is
the case, we handle it in accordance with this Policy.
When you visit the Site or interact with our emails or ads, we may
automatically collect usage data via cookies, web server logs, and web
beacons.
No Model Training on User Content
Bookcicle does not use the content you submit to its products, including
documents, manuscripts, résumés, Capsule content, and Redline comparison
inputs or outputs, to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models. When an
AI-assisted feature needs to process your content, the content is used to
deliver the service you requested. Our service providers may process it
for that purpose under our instructions, but may not use it to train or
improve their own models.
We may use operational information, such as usage counts, performance
measurements, and support feedback, to maintain and improve our services.
This does not authorize using your submitted content for model training.
Use of Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
To Provide and Improve Our Service: Process your
content to deliver AI-powered feedback.
Because AI output can be erroneous or plagiaristic, we log anonymised
usage signals (e.g., rejected vs. accepted suggestions) to improve
safety and encourage human-in-the-loop review.
To Moderate and Safeguard Content: Use automated tools
to enforce our Content Policy.
To Communicate with You: Send you service-related
updates and support messages.
To Analyze Trends: Analyze aggregated, de-identified
usage data to improve site reliability, performance, and user
experience.
To Maintain Security, Prevent Fraud, and Debug:
Use logs, IP address, and other technical data to detect, investigate,
and respond to suspicious or malicious activity, enforce our Terms of
Use, protect our users and systems, apply rate limits, and diagnose
technical issues.
To Comply with Legal Obligations: Process data as
required by law or public authority.
Assisted Content Policy
Bookcicle leverages third-party providers for assisted writing and
workflow services. This partnership assists authors in generating text
(e.g., dialogue, narration). Bookcicle is not liable for the content
produced by these providers; it is your responsibility to review and
integrate generated content.
Third-Party Providers & Data Sharing
AI and Hosting Providers: We may use third-party APIs
or cloud services (e.g., AWS, OpenAI) to process your submissions. We
share data with these providers only when required to run the specific
task you requested, and only the data reasonably necessary for that
task. We require these providers to act solely as our processors and
prohibit them by contract from using your content for their own model
training or product improvement.
Service Providers: We share data with trusted providers
for services such as payments, analytics, and customer support.
Legal or Compliance Reasons: Data may be disclosed to
comply with legal obligations or to protect our rights and safety.
We minimize the sharing of personal data by anonymizing or aggregating
where possible, and by limiting vendor access to the minimum data needed
for the relevant workflow.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide our
services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
Security and technical logs (which may include IP address and device
information) are retained for a limited period necessary to detect,
investigate, and respond to security incidents and abuse, and are then
deleted or aggregated/anonymized.
We may keep anonymized, aggregated data for research and analytics.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption (HTTPS)
and access controls, to safeguard your data. However, no method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International Data Transfers
We may transfer your personal data to countries outside your country of
residence (e.g., to the United States). Where required by law, we rely on
appropriate transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard
Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or other
approved safeguards.
Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect personal data from minors. If you are in the EEA/UK or where local
law sets a higher age of digital consent (13–16), you must meet the
applicable local age or obtain verifiable parental consent. If you believe
a minor’s data has been collected, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct,
delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. To exercise
these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data
protection authority.
Access your personal data.
Correct or update inaccurate data.
Delete your account or specific data.
Object to or restrict processing.
Withdraw Consent where applicable.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Policy at any time. Material changes
will be posted on our websites and are effective immediately. Your
continued use of the Service signifies your acceptance of the updated
Policy.
US State Privacy Notice
If you are a resident of certain US states (e.g., California, Colorado,
Connecticut, Virginia), you may have additional rights, including: (i)
right to know/access; (ii) right to delete; (iii) right to correct; (iv)
right to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” and targeted advertising; and (v)
right to appeal our response to your request.
Do Not Sell/Share: We honor state-law opt-outs for
“sale”/“sharing” of personal information and targeted advertising.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): Where required, we treat
a valid GPC signal as an opt-out.
Appeals: If we deny your request, you may appeal by
replying to our decision email or contacting privacy@bookcicle.com.

Human authorship evidence
Don't leave your book deal to a guess.
Give publishers more than a finished manuscript. Bookcicle preserves
authorship evidence while you write, so you can share the history
behind your work in a portable

Detection looks backward. Bookcicle records forward.
A finished document tells you little about how it was made.
Bookcicle preserves authorship evidence during the writing process,
so there is a record to inspect when the work is ready.

Send a .bkclp package alongside your manuscript, article, essay, or
report. A recipient can inspect work identity, recorded
contributions, and signed proof snapshots for important versions —
then check the signed record against the exact document. Notary
attestations and anchors add signals where included.

Studio + Bookcicle Notary
Create a verifiable authorship record.
Bookcicle Notary is the signing and integrity layer for proof
snapshots of your work. At a milestone or handoff, preserve exact
content and the available authorship evidence in a signed record. A
valid signature checks the integrity of that record; it does not
certify who wrote every word.
01
Preserve recorded contributions
Keep available human, AI, and collaborator contribution signals
as the manuscript evolves.
02
Capture a proof snapshot
Use Notary to preserve a verifiable record of a milestone,
handoff, or export.
03
Share it with confidence
Send portable authorship proof to an editor, agent, publisher,
collaborator, or client.
04
Let others verify it
Third parties can review the included manuscript and verify its
proof from the same portable capsule.
Bookcicle Notary is technology, not a commissioned notary public.
Use AI without erasing the human story behind the work.
AI can be useful. Where supported, accepted AI changes become part of
the contribution record. Activity outside the recorded workflow cannot
always be identified or reconstructed.
Studio Editor brings manuscript-aware assistance into the place where
you write. Revise with visible changes, stay in control of every edit,
and use tools designed around the needs of authors.

Current desktop release
Know exactly what you’re installing.
Bookcicle publishes versioned native packages with checksum manifests,
detached signatures, and an environment public key. The release list
below follows the same trusted source used by Bookcicle Notary.
Downloads are public. Each target links to its current package,
checksum manifest, detached signature, public verification key, and
updater manifest. Only supported macOS and Windows targets are shown
here. A subscription is required for Studio features; Notary
verification and Capture remain free on macOS and Windows.
1. Verify the signature
Confirm that the checksum manifest was signed by Bookcicle’s
published environment key.
2. Hash the package
Compute the SHA-256 of the DMG, ZIP, or MSI downloaded to your
machine.

installation.
The useful details
Questions, answered.
Can I write without an internet connection?
You can continue drafting and editing locally. Cloud sync, shared
collaboration, and cloud-backed AI features require connectivity.
What does “native editor” mean?
The Studio Editor runs as part of the native desktop application,
using native panes, windows, input, and persistence while remaining
compatible with your Studio projects.
Can I use Studio without installing the desktop app?
You can explore the Native Editor Demo in your browser with sample
documents and simulated proof features. Writing and revising real
projects requires Bookcicle Desktop for macOS or Windows. Web
viewing, sharing, and proof verification remain available.
Does AI replace my authorship?
No. AI is a collaborator you direct. Bookcicle is designed to keep
the author in control and preserve meaningful contribution history
around the work.
What does Notary prove?
Notary creates cryptographic proof records for exact content states.
It can help demonstrate that a specific version existed at a point
in the work’s history; it is not a substitute for a commissioned
notary public.
Clear about what the record can establish
Evidence, not magic.
A Proof Capsule represents the evidence Bookcicle was able to record
and include. Imported work, writing outside Bookcicle, and incomplete
history remain limitations of the record.
A valid signature establishes integrity of the signed material. It
does not guarantee human authorship, originality, or factual accuracy.
Gaps should remain visible so recipients can make an informed
judgment.
Your work. Its creation history.
Start your next draft with a record behind it.
Write in Studio, preserve available authorship evidence, and share the
history with your finished work.
